Transliteration mode is a supplemental feature for those who start to study Japanese. If you decided to use this mode, please, don't forget that the transliteration is built automatically and it is not the same as “correct” reading of Japanese words.
To switch transliteration mode on select menu command Options → Transliteration… A dialog box will appear.
Use Russian or Latin buttons to select between transliteration with Russian characters and transliteration with Latin characters (romaji).
If Lists checkbox is marked, a transliteration will appear in lists instead of kana.
If Articles checkbox is marked, a transliteration will appear in articles instead of kana.
If Articles (additional) checkbox is marked, a transliteration will appear in articles additionally to kana reading.
Transliterations in the lists and in the articles are independent. You can leave kana in the lists and at the same time use transliteration in articles.
After pressing OK button selected settings will take effect. Word lists will be rebuilt if transliteration mode for lists changed.
If you press Cancel button, dialog box will be closed without changing current settings.
Differences between transliteration and correct reading
